KJV : Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king’s heart [was] toward Absalom.
YLT : And Joab son of Zeruial knoweth that the heart of the king [is] on Absalom,
RV : Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king-s heart was toward Absalom.
RSV : Now Joab the son of Zeruiah perceived that the king's heart went out to Absalom.

KJV : And Joab sent to Tekoah, and fetched thence a wise woman, and said unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, and put on now mourning apparel, and anoint not thyself with oil, but be as a woman that had a long time mourned for the dead:
YLT : and Joab sendeth to Tekoah, and taketh thence a wise woman, and saith unto her, `Feign thyself a mourner, I pray thee, and put on, I pray thee, garments of mourning, and anoint not thyself with oil, and thou hast been as a woman these many days mourning for the dead,

ESV : And Joab sent to Tekoa and brought from there a wise woman and said to her, "Pretend to be a mourner and put on mourning garments. Do not anoint yourself with oil, but behave like a woman who has been mourning many days for the dead.
ERVEN : So Joab sent messengers to Tekoa to bring a wise woman from there. Joab said to this wise woman, "Please pretend to be very sad. Put on sackcloth. Don't dress up. Act like a woman who has been crying many days for someone who died.

MOV : രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവനോടു ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; യോവാബ് വാചകം അവൾക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.
KJV : And come to the king, and speak on this manner unto him. So Joab put the words in her mouth.
YLT : and thou hast gone unto the king, and spoken unto him, according to this word;` and Joab putteth the words into her mouth.

MOV : ഇങ്ങനെ തെക്കോവക്കാരത്തിയായ സ്ത്രീ രാജാവിനോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ ചെന്നു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു: രാജാവേ, രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And when the woman of Tekoah spake to the king, she fell on her face to the ground, and did obeisance, and said, Help, O king.
YLT : And the woman of Tekoah speaketh unto the king, and falleth on her face to the earth, and doth obeisance, and saith, `Save, O king.`

MOV : എന്നാൽ അടിയന്നു രണ്ടു പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ വയലിൽവെച്ചു തമ്മിൽ കലഹിച്ചു; അവരെ പിടിച്ചുമാറ്റുവാൻ ആരും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തൻ മറ്റവനെ അടിച്ചുകൊന്നു.
KJV : And thy handmaid had two sons, and they two strove together in the field, and [there was] none to part them, but the one smote the other, and slew him.
YLT : and thy maid-servant hath two sons; and they strive both of them in a field, and there is no deliverer between them, and the one smiteth the other, and putteth him to death;

MOV : കുലം മുഴുവനും അടിയന്റെ നേരെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു: സഹോദരഘാതകനെ ഏല്പിച്ചുതരിക; അവൻ കൊന്ന സഹോദരന്റെ ജീവന്നു പകരം അവനെ കൊന്നു അങ്ങനെ അവകാശിയെയും നശിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറയുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ എന്റെ ഭർത്താവിന്നു പേരും സന്തതിയും ഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ എനിക്കു ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കനലും കെടുത്തുകളവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : And, behold, the whole family is risen against thine handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew; and we will destroy the heir also: and so they shall quench my coal which is left, and shall not leave to my husband [neither] name nor remainder upon the earth.
YLT : and lo, the whole family hath risen against thy maid-servant, and say, Give up him who smiteth his brother, and we put him to death for the life of his brother whom he hath slain, and we destroy also the heir; and they have quenched my coal which is left -- so as not to set to my husband a name and remnant on the face of the ground.`

ERVEN : Now the whole family is against me. They said to me, 'Bring us the son who killed his brother and we will kill him, because he killed his brother.' My son is like the last spark of a fire. If they kill my son, that fire will burn out and be finished. He is the only son left alive to get his father's property. So my dead husband's property will go to someone else and his name will be removed from the land."

KJV : And the woman of Tekoah said unto the king, My lord, O king, the iniquity [be] on me, and on my father’s house: and the king and his throne [be] guiltless.

KJV : And the king said, Whosoever saith [ought] unto thee, bring him to me, and he shall not touch thee any more.
YLT : And the king saith, `He who speaketh [aught] unto thee, and thou hast brought him unto me, then he doth not add any more to come against thee.`

RSV : The king said, "If any one says anything to you, bring him to me, and he shall never touch you again."

ERVEN : King David said, "If anyone is saying bad things to you, bring them to me. They will not bother you again."

MOV : രക്തപ്രതികാരകൻ അധികം സംഹാരം ചെയ്കയും എന്റെ മകനെ അവർ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാജാവു ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഓർക്കേണമേ എന്നു അവൾ പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു അവൻ: യഹോവയാണ, നിന്റെ മകന്റെ ഒരു രോമം പോലും നിലത്തു വീഴുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that thou wouldest not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
YLT : And she saith, `Let, I pray thee, the king remember by Jehovah thy God, that the redeemer of blood add not to destroy, and they destroy not my son;` and he saith, `Jehovah liveth; if there doth fall of the hair of thy son to the earth.`
RV : Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the LORD thy God, that the avenger of blood destroy not any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the LORD liveth, there shalt not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
RSV : Then she said, "Pray let the king invoke the LORD your God, that the avenger of blood slay no more, and my son be not destroyed." He said, "As the LORD lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the ground."
ASV : Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember Jehovah thy God, that the avenger of blood destroy not any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As Jehovah liveth, there shall not one hair of thy son fall to the earth.
ESV : Then she said, "Please let the king invoke the LORD your God, that the avenger of blood kill no more, and my son be not destroyed." He said, "As the LORD lives, not one hair of your son shall fall to the ground."
ERVEN : The woman said, "Please, use the name of the Lord your God and swear that you will stop these people. They want to punish my son for murdering his brother. Swear that you will not let them destroy my son." David said, "As the Lord lives, no one will hurt your son. Not even one hair from your son's head will fall to the ground."

MOV : അപ്പോൾ ആ സ്ത്രീ: യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനോടു അടിയൻ ഒരു വാക്കു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പറക എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Then the woman said, Let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak [one] word unto my lord the king. And he said, Say on.
YLT : And the woman saith, `Let, I pray thee, thy maid-servant speak unto my lord the king a word;` and he saith, `Speak.`

ERVEN : The woman said, "My lord and king, please let me say something else to you." The king said, "Speak."

MOV : ആ സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള കാര്യം നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി വിചാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? രാജാവു തന്റെ ഭ്രഷ്ടനെ മടക്കി വരുത്താഞ്ഞതിനാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ കല്പിച്ച വചനംകൊണ്ടു രാജാവു തന്നേ കുറ്റക്കാരനെന്നു വന്നുവല്ലോ.
KJV : And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished.
YLT : And the woman saith, `And why hast thou thought thus concerning the people of God? yea, the king is speaking this thing as a guilty one, in that the king hath not brought back his outcast;
RV : And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou devised such a thing against the people of God? for in speaking this word the king is as one which is guilty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished one.
RSV : And the woman said, "Why then have you planned such a thing against the people of God? For in giving this decision the king convicts himself, inasmuch as the king does not bring his banished one home again.
ASV : And the woman said, Wherefore then hast thou devised such a thing against the people of God? for in speaking this word the king is as one that is guilty, in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished one.
ESV : And the woman said, "Why then have you planned such a thing against the people of God? For in giving this decision the king convicts himself, inasmuch as the king does not bring his banished one home again.
ERVEN : Then the woman said, "Why have you planned these things against the people of God? When you say these things, you show you are guilty because you have not brought back the son who you forced to leave home.

MOV : നാം മരിക്കേണ്ടുന്നവരല്ലോ: നിലത്തു ഒഴിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതും വീണ്ടും ചേർത്തുകൂടാത്തതുമായ വെള്ളംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവം ജീവനെ എടുത്തുകളയാതെ ഭ്രഷ്ടനായവൻ തനിക്കു ഇനിയും ഭ്രഷ്ടനായിരിക്കാതവണ്ണം മാർഗ്ഗം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : For we must needs die, and [are] as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God respect [any] person: yet doth he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
YLT : for we do surely die, and [are] as water which is running down to the earth, which is not gathered, and God doth not accept a person, and hath devised devices in that the outcast is not outcast by Him.
RV : For we must needs die, and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God take away life, but deviseth means, that he that is banished be not an outcast from him.
RSV : We must all die, we are like water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; but God will not take away the life of him who devises means not to keep his banished one an outcast.
ASV : For we must needs die, and are as water split on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither doth God take away life, but deviseth means, that he that is banished be not an outcast from him.
ESV : We must all die; we are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. But God will not take away life, and he devises means so that the banished one will not remain an outcast.
ERVEN : We will all die some day. We will be like water that is spilled on the ground. No one can gather this water back from the ground. You know God forgives people. God made plans for people who are forced to run away for safety—God does not force them to run away from him!

MOV : ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിനെ ഈ കാര്യം ഉണർത്തിപ്പാൻ വന്നതു ജനം എന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകകൊണ്ടാകുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഇപ്പോൾ രാജാവിനെ ഉണർത്തിക്കട്ടെ. പക്ഷേ രാജാവു അടിയന്റെ അപേക്ഷ പ്രകാരം ചെയ്യുമായിരിക്കും;
KJV : Now therefore that I am come to speak of this thing unto my lord the king, [it is] because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his handmaid.
YLT : `And now that I have come to speak unto the king my lord this word, [it is] because the people made me afraid, and thy maid-servant saith, Let me speak, I pray thee, unto the king; it may be the king doth do the word of his handmaid,
RV : Now therefore seeing that I am come to speak this word unto my lord the king, it is because the people have made me afraid: and thy handmaid said, I will now speak unto the king; it may be that the king will perform the request of his servant.

ERVEN : My lord and king, I came to say these words to you, because the people made me afraid. I said to myself, 'I will talk to the king. Maybe the king will help me.

MOV : രാജാവു കേട്ടു എന്നെയും എന്റെ മകനെയും ഒന്നിച്ചു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അവകാശത്തിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നു അടിയൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.
KJV : For the king will hear, to deliver his handmaid out of the hand of the man [that would] destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
YLT : for the king doth hearken to deliver his handmaid out of the paw of the man [seeking] to destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God,
RV : For the king will hear to deliver his servant out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.
RSV : For the king will hear, and deliver his servant from the hand of the man who would destroy me and my son together from the heritage of God.'
ASV : For the king will hear, to deliver his servant out of the hand of the man that would destroy me and my son together out of the inheritance of God.

ERVEN : The king will listen to me and save me from the man who wants to kill me and my son. That man just wants to keep us from getting what God gave us.'

MOV : യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന ആശ്വാസമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഗുണവും ദോഷവും തിരിച്ചറിവാൻ യജമാനനായ രാജാവു ഒരു ദൈവദൂതനെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും അടിയൻ വിചാരിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.
KJV : Then thine handmaid said, The word of my lord the king shall now be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so [is] my lord the king to discern good and bad: therefore the LORD thy God will be with thee.
YLT : and thy maid-servant saith, Let, I pray thee, the word of my lord the king be for ease; for as a messenger of God so [is] my lord the king, to understand the good and the evil; and Jehovah thy God is with thee.`
RV : Then thine handmaid said, Let, I pray thee, the word of my lord the king be comfortable: for as an angel of God, so is my lord the king to discern good and bad: and the LORD thy God be with thee.
RSV : And your handmaid thought, `The word of my lord the king will set me at rest'; for my lord the king is like the angel of God to discern good and evil. The LORD your God be with you!"

ERVEN : I know that the words of my lord the king will give me rest, because you are like an angel from God. You know what is good and what is bad. And the Lord your God is with you."
